About Me

Hey, I’m Jess! If you don’t find me in the kitchen cooking up the latest thing to catch my eye, or ripping something out to start my latest DIY project, you can find me out wandering in my own city or elsewhere. Let’s just say, when you hear silence, you know I’m up to something!

I focus on easy, no-fuss recipes that are delicious and dairy-free. I’ll call it modern comfort food.

There’s never a dull moment, so stick around, there will be food!

If your pancake soaks up all of its syrup (or butter, or powdered sugar), you’re allowed to put more on, right? Asking for a friend 🥰
I’ve never met a pancake I didn’t like 😉 but a pancake you make in a blender and then bake in butter is prettyyyyyy up there! Brunching on this Dutch Baby and thinking of spring over here! 😘
Not over these blood oranges yet 🥰 it’s 45 in Chicago today, sun is shining, and I could almost convince myself spring is coming buttttt then I remind myself we had snow on April 16 last year 🤣 a lot of winter left but for now, enjoying this sunshine ✨ happy Saturday fam! Wishing you lots of good brunch and maybe even a nap (and a blood orange Negroni) 🤗
When you get your first blood oranges of the season, time to make a cocktail 🥰 and these blood orange Negronis are just what we need to celebrate the end of the week (with egg whites giving that lovely foam layer) 🥂 Happy Friday fam!
It’s the berry topping that really takes the cake 🥰 topped this gorgeous olive oil cake with some macerated blueberries to make a little fruity “sauce”👌🏻 cake perfection!
There is a special place in my heart for olive oil cake and I have to say, this is one of the best I’ve had 🥰 the cake is light, fluffy, but also moist (and doesn’t dry out if it manages to stick around for a few days) and the sugared edges on the outside and the slightly flaky top crust are just 😍😍😍 top with some fresh berries, or macerated berries (fancy for cooked down with a bit of sugar), maybe some whipped cream and you have a TREAT ✨ if you could honestly only eat one type of cake, what would it be?
